Where Do We Go From Here?

From FAIR (v. Rumsfeld) to Equal: The Top Five Things Law Students Can Do to Address the Discrimination Inherent in the Solomon Amendment.

In response to inquiries from law students, faculty, staff and supporters about what to do next (in addition to protest) following the decision in FAIR upholding the Solomon Amendment, the National Lesbian and Gay Law Foundation will be offering a special workshop at the 2006 Lavender Law Conference for law student, faculty and staff attendees that will teach why these constituencies are uniquely situated to advocate for the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” and give them concrete strategies and tools for doing so.

Please join us and forward this announcement on to all who may be interested.

To register for this workshop, please send your name –and- the name of your law school to info@NLGLA.org. This training will be held at the Lavender Law Career Fair, Thursday, September 7th, 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Congressional Rooms A & B.

Attention Law Students and Faculty!

Please take note!  Lavender Law 2006 – Washington, DC is almost two months earlier than last year’s extremely successful event, Lavender Law 2005 – San Diego.  Students must begin planning immediately to get supplemental funding from law schools various accounts, student groups, lesbian and gay bar associations, or other sources.  More and more law schools are providing financial support to get their students to Lavender Law, and Lavender Law subsidizes over one-half of students’ registration for the Career Fair and the Conference, keeping fees at a reasonable $115 per student.  Yet, students should plan ahead, especially given that Lavender Law is earlier this year.

Click here for some tips, if you are seeking additional funding to attend Lavender Law.

Registration will close on August 15th, 2006.
