Lavender Law, the annual conference of National Lesbian and Gay
Law Association. More than 500 practicing attorneys, law professors,
students and members of the judiciary are expected to attend

Allies
for Justice Awardee Harold Hongju Koh
The
National Lesbian and Gay Law Association (NLGLA) today announced
its 2005 Allies for Justice Awardee, Harold Hongju Koh, Dean
of Yale Law School. Dean Koh receives the award in recognition
of his longstanding commitment to promoting equality and justice
for the LGBT community. The bar association also noted Dean Koh’s
stewardship of Yale Law School in its leadership role challenging
the anti-gay Solomon Amendment and his visible role as one of
the amici in Lawrence v. Texas, the U.S. Supreme Court
decision that struck down state sodomy laws. NLGLA co-sponsors
its Allies for Justice Award with the American Bar Association's
Section on Individual Rights and Responsibilities, and will present
the Award to Dean Koh at the American Bar Association’s
Annual Conference on August 5th, 2005 at 6:00 p.m. at the Acapulco
Room of the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Chicago, Illinois. Please join us.

Inspirational Keynote Address
Lavender Law is proud to present Ambassador James C. Hormel. Hormel served as the first out United States Ambassador to Luxembourg.
He received his J.D. from the University of Chicago where he subsequently was the Assistant Dean and Dean of Students.
Celebrating our Leaders
The Dan Bradley Award is presented annually by NLGLA to recognize the efforts of a member of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex legal community whose work, like attorney Dan Bradley's, has led the way in our struggle for equality under the law.
