American Bar Association Expresses Support for Protection against Discrimination based upon

Gender Identity and Expression

History was made at the ABA Annual Meeting held earlier this month in Honolulu, Hawaii.  For the first time, the ABA addressed discrimination based upon gender and passed a gender-inclusive resolution supporting our community.

Here is the text of the resolution:

RESOLVED, That the American Bar Association urges the Federal government, the states and territories, and local governments to enact legislation prohibiting discrimination on the basis of actual or perceived gender identity or expression, in employment, housing and public accommodations.

NLGLA wishes to thank our heroes in key leadership positions at the ABA, as well as Jeff Gibson, NLGLA’s Delegate to the House, for making this happen!
