Lavender Law is teaming up with Shoreline Charters to make this year's 'Not For Women Only' Event truly special! The two-hour cruise around Lake Michigan will be held on Friday, September 7th after the People of Color Reception. Tickets will be available during Lavender Law Check-In beginning on Thursday, September 6th. Buy your tickets early - this event is guaranteed to sell out! Special Lavender Law Event: Affiliates In Focus Saturday, September 8th, 12:15 - 1:30 p.m. NLGLA is planning for the future and we want to hear from you! Please join one of three focus groups and come ready to tell us what you want the future direction of the organization to be. You will learn more about our strategic planning process and how you and members in your regional affiliate can be involved. Past, current and future affiliate members are encouraged to attend. Interested parties should sign-up in advance by emailing Pamela. Registration will also be available at the Lavender Law check-in tables. Interested parties must be registered by 10am Saturday. On Friday, August 10th, during the American Bar Association Annnual Meeting in San Francisco, NLGLA presented the Allies for Justice Award to ABA President-Elect William Neukom and San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom for their noteworthy contributions to the struggle for LGBT civil rights and equality before the law. President-Elect Neukom and Mayor Newsom accepted their awards at the standing room-only reception at the Westin St. Francis Hotel. Please note: For the first time this year, walk-in registrations will be available on Thursday, September 6th and Friday, September 7th. Lavender Law walk-in registrations are subject to additional fees.
