Vote for Equality

The day is finally here: Election Day 2008.  Tomorrow, a record number of Americans will head to the polls and our nation’s future hangs in the balance.  With critical choices to make at the federal, state and local levels, voters in four states will also face anti-LGBT ballot initiatives.

As the battle to preserve marriage equality takes center stage in California, voters in Arizona, after defeating a similar measure in 2006, will try to fend off another constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage.  In Florida, supporters of the same-sex marriage ban will need to get 60% of the vote while the right of LGBT couples to adopt or care for foster children is on the line in nearby Arkansas.

Be sure to join us on Thursday for a 60 minute, post-election conference call where we will be taking a close look at what the election results mean for the greater LGBT equality movement.
