Chair
Brad Evan Rosen is an associate in the New York office of Quinn, Emanuel, Urquhart and Sullivan, and a Lecturer in Computer Science at Yale University. He received his B.S and M.S. from Yale University in 2004, and his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2008. While at Harvard, Brad was a 3-year board member of Lambda, serving as a 1L Representative, Communications Director and Treasurer. He also served on the Dean’s Committee for Solomon Amendment Amelioration, and helped launch HLS Lambda’s GALLA (now HaLLA) Conference. He spearheaded the release of a unified statement from a coalition of law school LGBT groups following the Supreme Court’s deicison in Rumsfeld v. FAIR. |

Co-Chair
Kevin Kraham is a shareholder in Littler Mendelson’s District of Columbia office, where he provides day-to-day advice, counseling and training to employers and represents clients in employment and labor matters before administrative agencies and arbitrators, and in state and federal courts. Kevin represents a variety of employers, including those in the transportation, retail, education, hospitality, distribution and logistics, healthcare, government contracting, and non-profit industries. A regular lecturer on public charter school and education issues, Kevin also comments about workplace issues and is quoted in a number of national publications. He is a former adjunct professor at Georgetown University, where he taught cross cultural management and negotiations and global labor and employment law. Kevin began his career in employment and labor law with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission as an investigator, law clerk, and administrative judge. Kevin serves on Littler’s Associates Committee and is a core member of the firm’s Transportation and Whistleblowing and Retaliation practice groups. He is also a member of the firm’s LGBTA Affinity Group, Littler Pride. |

W. Cleveland Acree II works for the Orlando office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., a firm with multiple offices in the state of Florida, as well as Ohio, Illinios and Arizona. Both at QPWB as well as at prior firms he has practiced with, Cleve’s litigation practice has been quite extensive and has included professional, premises, product, general, medical and legal liability representation. On behalf of his corporate clientele, Cleve also has extensive experience handling product, commercial and corporate liability actions in both state and federal courts. Cleve is also a third generation Floridian and received his bachelor’s degree at the University of Central Florida in Orlando and thereafter attended St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami where he graduated with honors. Locally, he is a member of the Equal Opportunities Law Section of The Florida Bar, the Central Florida Gay & Lesbian Law Association – a Voluntary Association of The Florida Bar, as well as the Metropolitan Business Association. Cleve and his husband have two children. |

Mark Brennan is an Associate at Hogan Lovells US LLP in Washington, D.C. His practice is centered on the intersection of wireless technology and consumer protection, with a particular focus on spectrum policy and mobile privacy. He regularly advises clients in all segments of the wireless ecosystem, including service providers, network infrastructure suppliers, equipment manufacturers, and application developers, as well as a diverse set of international clients from the technology, transportation, financial services, education, and healthcare sectors. Mark graduated from Georgetown University Law Center after earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Florida, where he majored in Finance and minored in Mass Communications. |

Susan Borschel is an associate at Morrison & Foerster’s Northern Virginia office and is a member of the Government Contracts Group. She has more than 20 years of legal, operations, and controller experience in both private and military matrix organizations. Ms. Borschel previously served a variety of intelligence, Department of Defense, and other government agency customers as a member of executive teams for two different lines of business. Prior to her work for a major defense contractor, Ms. Borschel was a commercial real estate and corporate attorney supporting clients worldwide. She served in the U.S. Army as a lieutenant colonel with nearly 30 years of active and reserve duty in the fields of finance and military intelligence. Ms. Borschel served four of her twelve active duty years in France and Germany, and held a variety of senior intelligence and finance positions, including Chief Staff Officer for the National Military Joint Intelligence Center, Senior Military Analyst for the Defense Intelligence Agency, and Deputy Defense Accounting Officer for Fort Belvoir. |

Laura Maechtlen is a partner in the San Francisco office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP and serves as a Co-Chair of the Firm’s Diversity Action Team Executive Committee. Ms. Maechtlen’s practice is focused on employment litigation and includes the defense of class, collective and multi-plaintiff actions arising out of alleged violations of Title VII, California Labor Code, the Fair Labor Standards Act and state statutes prohibiting discrimination and harassment in employment. In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Maechtlen also provides day-to-day counseling and advice to clients about the various laws affecting the employment relationship. Ms. Maechtlen is a member of Seyfarth Shaw’s Retail and Hospitality Industry Practice Groups. She also handles litigation for, and provides counseling to clients, in a variety of industries, including logistics and transportation, airline transportation, construction, financial and professional services, restaurant, temporary staffing and technology. Ms. Maechtlen speaks and publishes regularly on a variety of employment law and litigation topics, and issues regarding diversity and inclusion in the legal profession. Ms. Maechtlen also has an extensive pro bono practice and in 2010 was named Seyfarth Shaw’s Pro Bono Partner of the Year. |

Barry Parsons is the Associate General Counsel in the litigation department of Freddie Mac. Previously, he was the Counsel with the Washington, D.C. office of Crowell & Moring LLP where he represented companies in tort (including products liability, business torts, and privacy issues), class action, and complex commercial litigation matters. He also represented clients in a number of antitrust and insurance law cases and counseled clients on e-discovery and document retention issues. He had served on his firm’s Diversity, Recruiting, Summer Associate, and Associate Committees. Barry chairs the National LGBT Bar Association’s Diversity Committee. Prior to becoming a member of the Board of Directors, he served the Association as a member of the Diversity and Governance Committees. He has also been active on LGBT issues within the legal community including litigating several LGBT civil rights cases, serving as a panelist at the first Minority Corporate Counsel Association Annual Meeting to address inclusion of LGBT attorneys in law firm diversity efforts, and being a long-time member of Whitman Walker Clinic’s Legal Services Operating Committee. Barry received his J.D. with distinction from George Mason University School of Law. He also holds a M.B.A. from American University and a B.S. in Economics from King’s College. Barry and his partner have three children. |

Brian Winterfeldt is a partner in the Washington office of Steptoe & Johnson, where he is a member of the Intellectual Property group. Mr. Winterfeldt’s practice involves most aspects of intellectual property law, including domestic and international trademark counseling, clearance, prosecution, enforcement, and litigation, as well as trade dress, Internet governance and domain name issues. Mr. Winterfeldt’s practice includes significant work in Internet governance, domain name law and new media counseling and enforcement. Mr. Winterfeldt has also counseled clients on cutting edge issues such as the new gTLD program and social media, including strategies for brand promotion and protection in these spaces. Mr. Winterfeldt has also written numerous articles on trademark law and has been selected as Special Advisor for INTA’s Internet Committee and Co-Chair to several major conferences for INTA. Mr. Winterfeldt also serves as Co-Chair of Steptoe’s GLBT Forum and as a member of Steptoe’s Diversity Committee. Mr. Winterfeldt is a prominent and frequent speaker at industry events on topics including trademark issues, Internet governance and social media. |

Alfred Zaher is a partner at Blank Rome LLP. He concentrates his practice on patent, trademark and trade secret litigation, licensing, and counseling. He has extensive experience representing clients before U.S. courts, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and the U.S. Copyright Office. Prior to entering the practice of law in 1994, Mr. Zaher was a research engineer with more than 10 years of technical experience. Since then Mr. Zaher has become an experienced litigator, counselor and negotiator working with Fortune 500 and mid-size companies in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, electronics and software. His practice is concentrated on patent, trademark and copyright infringement, trade secret misappropriation, and related areas. He has a strong entrepreneurial approach to the practice of law focused on effective and efficient representation to accomplish and further his clients’ business goals. |
