Best LGBT Lawyers Under 40

Each year, the LGBT Bar recognizes 40 LGBT legal professionals (practicing lawyers, law professors, corporate counsel, members of the judiciary, politicians, etc.) under the age of 40 who have distinguished themselves in their field and have demonstrated a profound commitment to LGBT equality.

Nominees must be self-identified LGBT attorneys admitted to practice in any U.S. jurisdiction and must have been born on or after August 23, 1973. Supporting documentation may be requested.The Best LGBT Lawyers Under 40 Class of 2013 will be presented at the 25th Anniversary Lavender Law® Conference & Career Fair, which will be held August 22-24, 2013 in San Francisco, California.

Nominations for the Best LGBT Lawyers Under 40 Class of 2013 are due by Monday, June 3, 2013 at 5:00pm ET.

To nominate an individual for the 2013 Best LGBT Lawyers Under 40 Award, please submit the following to Nominations@LGBTbar.org:
  • Nomination Form
  • Statement of Support of Nominee (not to exceed 2 pages). Please include:
    - Details on achievements within their legal field
    - Details on their commitment to LGBT equality
  • Current Resume of the Nominee
  • Letters of Support
