About the Committee

Fabio Silva is Corporate & Intellectual Property Counsel for Burberry Limited, the Americas. When he joined Burberry in 2003, he was charged with building a comprehensive intellectual property enforcement program from the ground up. Since then, the enforcement program aimed at protecting Burberry’s valuable trademarks, has met with greater than expected results and has set higher intellectual property enforcement standards in the luxury brand industry. Mr. Silva was promoted in 2007 to his current position and is now responsible for managing the entirety of Burberry’s legal matters in the Americas, at a time when Burberry began experiencing phenomenal growth both in the Americas and abroad.

 Mr. Silva was an associate at the law firm of Arnold & Porter in Washington, DC, where he was initially a litigator and later transitioned to intellectual property transactional work. Prior to joining Arnold & Porter, Mr. Silva was a litigator at the law firm of Crowell & Moring in Washington, DC. 

Mr. Silva has a law degree from Stanford Law School (1998) and an A.A.S. Degree in Fashion Design from Parsons School of Design (2003). He is a member of the State Bar of California and also a member of the District of Columbia Bar.  While living in Washington, DC, he served two years on the board of GAYLAW.
